Pakistan faces a tough Hockey World Cup campaign in India

The global tournament kicks off in India where 16 teams are playing in four group matches and then winners will move to quarter-finals, semi-finals leading to final match for the world cup.

The competing teams include Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Canada, China, England, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Malaysia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa and Spain.

Four time winner of World Cup Hockey tournament, Pakistan will be hoping to survive the ‘group of death’ before taking on the other teams in the next round.

Earlier this year, Pakistan shared the glory with India at the Asian Champions Trophy but at the Asian Games and the Commonwealth games failed to win any medal.
