"The United States has foolishly given Pakistan more than 33 billion dollars in aid over the last 15 years, and they have given us nothing but lies & deceit, thinking of our leaders as fools," President Trump tweeted on New Year's Day. It followed by swift actions, resulting in the suspension of a large portion of the US aid to Pakistan. Dr Zahid Shahab Ahmed, who is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Alfred Deakin Institute, talked about reasons behind the US move.
