A Pakistani-Australian teenager has authored a poetry book in what she believes is an attempt to highlight the realities of life.

Malaika Gilani, 16, has penned a collection of short poems Untold Journeys, embracing writing as a form to express her understanding of life and its adventures.

The subjects range from friends, family and self-indulgence to country and sports.

“I couldn’t believe till the time I opened the box and found the books that they would be published,” she laughs.
