The Liberal Government has adopted a tougher approach to Welfare and Education in its mid-year budget update, claiming cuts will help in putting the budget in surplus by 2021. Dr Umneea Khan, Manager Fairway, the University of Western Australia, who works closely with students from disadvantaged and migrant families, highlighted recent changes to welfare and education policies with respect to their impact on migrant communities.
