Australia’s relations with its largest trading partner, China, have cooled this past year, but there are signs they are warming up.

Trade Minister Simon Birmingham is in Shanghai, leading a delegation of 150 Australian businesses hoping to increase their share of China’s growing middle-class consumer market.

They are participating in China’s first International Import Expo.

Mr Birmingham is making Australia’s first high-level state visit to China in months, and Foreign Affairs Minister Marise Payne will also be travelling to the country this week. ((thur))
