The recent 'Super Saturday' by-elections offered a vision of the not-too-distant future, as Malcolm Turnbull and Bill Shorten raced around the country’s marginal seats trying to shore up support.
For now, Mr Turnbull has to reshuffle his ministry, with a number of frontbenchers expected to head to the backbench in the aftermath of the challenge.
