A Hungarian court has sentenced four members of a people-smuggling gang to 25 years in prison for letting 71 men, women and children suffocate inside a freezer truck.
The sentence comes as German chancellor Angela Merkel calls for a common European approach to the migration issue after Malta and Italy refused to let a ship carrying more than 600 migrants and refugees dock.
