China's official Xinhua News Agency says the accident happened on Wednesday morning just south of the regional capital of Lhasa, adding that eight other people have been injured and that the cause is under investigation.

Xinhua says the bus belonged to a Lhasa-based tour bus company but has given no details about those on board.
