Windows were rattled and furniture shaken when an earthquake rocked the town of Muswellbrook in the NSW Hunter Valley.
The 3.2 magnitude quake was recorded shortly before 4pm on Thursday about 13km south of Muswellbrook, with Geoscience Australia (GA) receiving about 40 reports from local residents.
"There were reports of very loud rumbling noises, windows and furniture were shaking. One person said a very heavy TV cabinet rocked from side to side, almost falling over," GA duty seismologist Andrea Thom told AAP.
"Nobody reported any damage, which we also wouldn't expect with an earthquake of this size."
The quake comes seven months after two earthquakes were reported in Muswellbrook at lower magnitudes of 2.6 and 2.8 on January 18.
