Man charged with causing train derailment

A man will appear in court next month charged with causing a cane train to derail in northern Queensland.

A 19-year-old man has been charged with causing a cane train hauling 96 empty bins to derail in northern Queensland.

No one was injured in Sunday's incident, but significant damage was done to the cane train track.

However, the main rail line is undamaged and Queensland Rail trains will operate as usual.
