3 Doors Down bassist under house arrest

Robert Todd Harrell, bassist for 3 Doors Down, must remain under house arrest while he awaits trial for vehicular homicide, a judge has ruled.

A Nashville judge has ordered the bassist for 3 Doors Down to move from Mississippi to Music City so he can be under house arrest until he faces a vehicular homicide trial.

The Tennessean reports that prosecutors argued on Friday that bassist Robert Todd Harrell was a danger to the community and needed to be jailed while awaiting trial.

The 42-year-old has been arrested on three DUI-related charges in two years.

Police say the bassist was driving impaired in April 2013 and caused a crash that killed another driver in Nashville.

Harrell's lawyer convinced the judge that house arrest was more appropriate. After the hearing, defence lawyer Ed Ryan said Harrell has pleaded not guilty.

3 Doors Down announced last week that the band had suspended Harrell indefinitely.
