36ers' Ferguson slapped with one-game ban

Adelaide guard Terrance Ferguson has been given a one-game NBL ban for striking Cairns forward Mark Worthington.

Adelaide youngster Terrance Ferguson's tussle with Cairns big man Mark Worthington has earned him a one-game NBL ban.

The guard pleaded guilty to striking Worthington during the first quarter of the 36ers' 83-67 home victory over the Taipans after the pair fought for a rebound from a Jerome Randle free throw last Friday.

Ferguson threw an elbow at Worthington, resulting in an foul and two shots for his opponent.

The NBL's game review panel deemed the contact high, intentional and medium impact, with Ferguson to miss Adelaide's round-four clash with the Breakers in New Zealand.

The 18-year-old American guard has played all five games for the 36ers, averaging 7.4 points.
