5-year-old girl discusses Princess Leia's 'slave outfit' with Dad

A young girl's discussion with her father about the merits of Jabba The Hutt's taste in fashion has gone viral on YouTube.

Princess Leia's gold metal bikini

Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia in Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi (1983)

It was a costume burned into the minds of a generation of pubescent sci-fi fans in the 80s, and has remained a pop culture icon - and cosplay and Halloween favourite - since it first graced the silver screen in Return of the Jedi.

Part a nod to Raquel Welch’s fur outfit from One Million Years B.C., part homage to Jane Fonda's silvery space suit in Barbarella - and countless other comic book and film serials from the 30s - Princess Leia's "gold metal bikini" continues to divide opinion.

But Adam Buxton's 5-year-old daughter isn't worried. She thinks it's nice.

In a hilarious YouTube video that's been watched close to a million times, the Mr Buxton's daughter doesn't hold back on Jabba The Hut's fashion ideas.

Watch the video to see for yourself, but here's just a taste:

Daughter: “It’s actually a pretty good look for her.”

Father: “Some people think it’s embarrassing and not very nice to make a woman dress up like that.”

Daughter: “I don’t care.”
