It's 60 years since the discovery of DNA, but scientists say there's still much more to learn about it.

The findings on the structure of DNA were first published in the journal Nature in 1953.

Assistant Professor of Forensic Studies at the University of Canberra, Dennis McNevin, says there is still a lot to be learnt about the workings of DNA.

He told Louisa Wright the discovery of the double helix structure was one of the greatest in scientific history.
