62,000 migrants came to Greece in January

More than 62,000 migrants and refugees arrived in Greece in January, according to the International Organisatiuon for Migration.

The total number of migrants and refugees arriving in Greece in January topped 62,000, the International Organisation for Migration said on Tuesday.

"(It) is many, many times what we saw a year ago in the previous January," IOM spokesman Joel Millman said.

More than 360 migrants died in the waters off Greece, Turkey and Italy during the month, he added.
