Birds of a feather may flock together, but don't tell that to Quackers the duck.
The four-week-old duck has found a home in a Minneapolis warehouse and a family with owner Matt Thompson.
And the young duckling has been hogging the spotlight.
"I don't think it thinks it's a duck, but don't tell it that," Mr Thompson said.
"(Quackers is) a very loyal friend. Everywhere I go. If I had to walk from here to home that duck would be one inch off my heels."
The odd couple met after workers found Quackers struggling in a Minnesota storm drain.
That's when Mr Thompson walked by and, after hearing what had happened, he agreed to look after the 4 week old duck.
It may not have been the natural choice but nurturing seems to be working out well.
"We came out from lunch and they had the duck and they said we can't take it with us so I said my son and I will help raise the duck and they gave it to me," he said.
"It's better than a sewer you know, better than a St Paul sewer, let me tell you."
Matt says he's going to keep the duck until she learns to fly. If she flies away, he says that will be that but if she chooses to stay, he'll be glad to keep her.
