Abbott tours visiting US warship in Sydney

Prime Minister Tony Abbott is touring an American warship which is in Sydney ahead of joint training exercises with the Australian Defence Force.

Australia's top gun Tony Abbott has choppered onto a visiting American warship in Sydney Harbour.

The prime minister toured the USS Blue Ridge on Friday morning, meeting US military brass and addressing sailors.

The warship, usually based in Japan, is in Australian waters ahead of the Talisman Sabre joint training exercises between the Australian Defence Force and US military.
