Dual Brownlow Medallist Gary Ablett said on Sunday a major announcement on his playing future is not far away.
The former Geelong star has served four years of a five-season deal with Gold Coast. Ablett, 30, is is discussions with the Suns about extending the arrangement.
"We're talking at the moment," Ablett told the AFL's website.
"Hopefully I can put pen to paper, but you'll know within the next month."
