AC/DC drummer Rudd accused of booze breach

Former AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd has been charged with breaching the alcohol restrictions of his home detention.

Former AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd has appeared in a New Zealand court accused of breaching the conditions of his sentence for threatening to kill and drug possession.

The 61-year-old rocker appeared in Tauranga District Court on Monday, after being arrested and charged with breaching alcohol restrictions imposed when he was sentenced earlier this month.

He was granted bail.

Rudd is appealing his sentence of eight months' home detention after he admitted to charges of threatening to kill and possessing methamphetamine and cannabis.

As part of his sentence he is electronically monitored at his Tauranga waterside mansion and must also complete a rehabilitation program.

Judge Thomas Ingram warned Rudd at his sentencing he would be jailed if he was found with any traces of drugs or alcohol in his system.
