Former tycoon Craig Gore, who is accused of fleecing almost $800k from super firms is expected to return to court in August where he will seek legal aid.

He was once on the BRW Rich List but former property developer Craig Gore is now before the Brisbane Magistrates Court, facing allegations he swindled almost $800,000.

Gore is preparing an application for legal aid funding to fight 12 charges of fraud, as well as three counts of making decisions that affect a business while disqualified from managing corporations.

The 50-year-old is accused of defrauding superannuation companies of $795,000 between 2013 and 2014, for the benefit of Arion Financial.

He is also accused of participating in or making decisions for three companies between 2010 and 2014, including Arion, while disqualified from managing corporations and was in 2015 banned from the financial services industry by the Federal Court.
