Accused wife murderer to face Sydney court

A Sydney man accused of the murder of his wife, who died in hospital from severe head injuries, is listed to appear in court.

A man charged with the murder of his wife is due to appear at a Sydney court on Thursday.

George Tannous, 55, was last year charged after handing himself into police at Bankstown after the death of his wife, Margaret, 47, in Liverpool Hospital.

Ms Tannous was taken to the hospital when she was found at a Bankstown unit with serious head injuries on the morning of February 17, 2014.

Tannous has been before the courts since the day after his wife died.

His matter is listed for mention at Burwood Local Court on Thursday.
