ACDC Drummer puts on a show in NZ court

Veteran rocker Phil Rudd has narrowly avoided an arrest warrant in New Zealand, arriving late to a court hearing on charges of threatening to kill and drug possession.

Drummer of world famous rock outfit AC/DC Phil Rudd is in the spotlight again, but for all the wrong reasons.

The 60-year old has caused havoc at a New Zealand court, jumping on security outside of the courtroom and reversing his car into oncoming traffic.

Mr Rudd was late for his 9am court appearance at the High Court in Tauranga New Zealand to answer charges of threatening to kill and drug possession.

Justice Timothy Brewer was minutes away from issuing a warrant for his arrest when he turned up.

"If Mr Rudd presents himself before half past nine, the warrant need not be executed, if he does not come before half past nine police will act on the warrant," he told the court.

The 60-year old appeared in court minutes later, his lawyer citing parking problems for his tardiness.

However, from the outset, it was apparent Mr Rudd would not be making a statement to the court; as he imitated zipping his lips together.

It was Mr Rudd's second appearance in the court this month, after facing charges for attempting to hire a hitman to kill two people, as well as the current charges.

The hire a hitman charge was dropped, with the crown prosecutor deciding there was insufficient evidence.

Mr Rudd is reportedly considering legal options over the debacle, telling media outside the courtroom that he regarded the accusations as 'bulls**t.'

The veteran rocker was shushed by his law team after the comment.

The unpredicatable behaviour of the infamous badboy continued as he jumped on the back of one of his security guards to make his way through the media scrum to his vehicle.

He then reversed his car into oncoming traffic.

The drummer played with internationally acclaimed Australian rock group AC/DC from the mid-70s to the mid-80s, rejoining the band in 1994.

However his absence from the band's latest music video - as well as the ongoing court case - has fans speculating as to whether he'll join AC/DC's next world tour.

Mr Rudd has been remanded on bail to reappear in court December 2nd.
