The Council of Australian Governments Reform Council's latest report on Indigenous reform, has welcomed improvements in the educational outcomes of primary, Year 12 and post-school students.
But the report says educational improvements are not translating into jobs for Indigenous Australians.
It found no improvement in employment outcomes across any state or territory and the overall employment gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians widening over the past five years.
The report comes after the federal government announced it will axe the Reform Council in June as part of a budget cost-saving measure.
Deputy Chair of the COAG Reform Council Greg Craven, spoke with Peggy Giakoumelos about the report.
