ACT storm prompts calls for help

Emergency services have dealt with more than 70 calls for help in the ACT after a strong but brief storm hit the nation's capital.

Emergency workers in the ACT have dealt with 71 calls for help after strong winds and heavy rain briefly struck the nation's capital.

ACT State Emergency Services (ACTSES) says no major damage or injuries were reported on Thursday after the strong but quick storm blew into the territory and cooled temperatures by almost ten degrees.

Volunteer members of the ACTSES and ACT Fire and Rescue crews completed all jobs.
