US actor Samuel L Jackson has slammed a news anchor for confusing him with Laurence Fishburne live on air.
The actor appeared on Los Angeles local TV station KTLA on Monday to promote his new movie, RoboCop.
But Jackson was stunned when entertainment reporter Sam Rubin asked him about his commercial for the Super Bowl, appearing to mistake him for Fisburne.
"What Super Bowl commercial?" the actor asked.
Jackson then laments about the anchor's confusion for a full two minutes, insisting the reporter is as bad as people on Twitter who jump to conclusions.
"We don't all look alike!" the actor vented, trying his best to crack a smile.
"See, you're as crazy as the people on Twitter," he said. "I'm not Laurence Fishburne!"
Rubin tried to turn the conversation back to the movie, but Jackson wasn't having it.
"Oh, hell no! Really?!" he responded.
"I'm the 'What's in your wallet' black guy. He's the car black guy. Morgan Freeman is the other credit card black guy," the actor states.
Rubin has since issued an apology to the actor. He insists the exchange was simply a mix-up.
"First and foremost, I do know who Samuel L Jackson is. I've interviewed him several times over the years, but never quite like the conversation we just had.
"I pride myself on the fact - that unlike a lot of people who do this kind of work - more often than not, I really do know what I'm talking about. But I didn't 30 minutes ago, and I'm really embarrassed about it, and I very much apologise to Samuel L Jackson and anyone else who was offended for what was a very amateur mistake."
