Adam Spencer becomes maths patron

Adam Spencer has been appointed the University of Sydney's Mathematics and Science Ambassador.

Former ABC radio presenter Adam Spencer has taken up a post as a maths and science ambassador at a university in Sydney.

Spencer quit as the ABC's 702 Sydney breakfast host in December last year, and on Thursday he was appointed the University of Sydney's mathematics and science ambassador.

The 45-year-old said he looks forward to sharing his love of learning with everyone.

"I can't wait to spread the gospel of the importance of mathematics and science education," Spencer said.

A lover of maths and self-confessed geek, the broadcaster hosted the programs Quantum and FAQ and later the TV series Sleek Geeks in partnership with Dr Karl Kruszelnicki.
