Adam Voges' Test batting average is now 94.78, having soared above 100 for a second time on Australia's tour of New Zealand.
Voges surpassed Don Bradman's iconic mark of 99.94 during the first trans-Tasman Test in Wellington last week.
However, the West Australian's average fell back to 97.46 when he was dismissed for 239 at the Basin Reserve.
Voges was 60 not out in the second over after lunch on day three of the second Test in Christchurch on Monday, lifting his average to 102.08.
The number fell when the 36-year-old was dismissed for 60 by Neil Wagner.
After 20 innings, Voges sits second on the all-time list of averages - comfortably ahead of Graeme Pollock (60.97).
Voges was the 10th wicket to fall in Australia's monster first-innings total of 562 in Wellington.
He noted then he was almost relieved to be dismissed.
"I'm probably happy that I'm out now and it's gone back under (Bradman)," Voges said at the time.
"That doesn't sit all that comfortably with me.
"I can just get on with playing cricket I guess."
Teammates have started calling Voges 'Don' and 'Sir Voges'.
"The boys had a bit of fun taking the mickey out of me in the change rooms but it's all good," he said.
"It was never going to stay there, it won't stay there. I know that."
