Adelaide man critical after home invasion

Drugs and cash were recently found by police in an Adelaide home that was broken into overnight, by two men who bashed and robbed the occupant.

An Adelaide man is in a critical condition after being bashed with a baseball bat and robbed during a violent home invasion, which police believe may have been a targeted attack.

Two men broke into a Henley Beach South home early on Monday, assaulted the man, aged in his 50s, and stole property including mobile phones.

One of the thieves is believed to have used a baseball bat and the victim has been taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital in a critical but stable condition with head injuries.

Chief Inspector Jerome Teakle said police raided the man's home last week, finding drugs and cash, and believe the attack may have been targeted.

He said four men were arrested at the time and the matter was before the courts."
