The State Emergency Service has cancelled the extreme heat warning for South Australia after a cool change brought relief to Adelaide after its hottest February day on record.
The mercury climbed to 44.7C on Sunday, but is expected to only reach 29C on Monday.
Mount Gambier reached 44.9C, also its hottest recorded February day.
The SES on Monday cancelled the extreme heat warning which had been in place since Thursday, but said people should still take appropriate precautions in the general hot conditions.
Since Thursday, 66 people presented to SA hospitals with heat stress, while 10 were admitted for treatment.
The extremely hot spell followed another heatwave in January.
Adelaide is expected to experienced temperatures in the 30s after Monday.
