Australia's four-Test series against India will start in Adelaide on December 9.
After postponing the first Test in Brisbane following Phillip Hughes' death, Cricket Australia confirmed its updated schedule on Monday night.
Adelaide Oval will now host the first Test.
Instead of starting on Friday, December 12 - as the second Test originally slated for Adelaide was scheduled to - that game will begin on December 9.
The shift will allow the second Test to be played in Brisbane on December 17-21.
The traditional Boxing Day clash in Melbourne will remain unchanged, while the SCG Test will now start on January 6.
CA chief executive James Sutherland asked for patience from fans who have booked tickets, and in some cases accommodation and flights.
"There will be knock-on effects from these decisions which people will obviously want answers to," Sutherland said.
"We will work through them as quickly as we can, but just ask for patience given these unprecedented circumstances."
CA and its Indian counterpart finalised dates for the rescheduled Test series on Monday, as they managed to make room in a packed schedule leading up to the one-day World Cup.
Unpicking the summer of cricket has proven a predictably troublesome process involving a diverse range of stakeholders.
India's squad decided on Monday to remain in Adelaide, effectively confirming the Gabba Test will not start the series.
The tourists were due to fly to Brisbane on Monday, but put off travelling until the venue and dates for the first Test were confirmed.
A two-day tour game featuring a Cricket Australia XI was cancelled last week, but India is likely to play a hastily-organised replacement match later this week.
Both CA and the Board of Control for Cricket in India wanted to ensure the one-day tri-series, due to start on January 16, remained untouched.
"We looked at possibly holding the Brisbane Test in the new year following Sydney but we felt that would only compromise the tri-series ... which is important preparation for our ICC Cricket World Cup campaign," Sutherland said.
Adelaide Oval, Hughes' adopted home after he switched states, will be a fitting scene for a game likely to be as much about remembrance as runs.
Captain Michael Clarke, who last week was set to be scratched from the Test squad because of his hamstring injury, could also potentially keep his spot in the XI.
Clarke's leadership during this traumatic time has been widely admired and the 33-year-old will desperately want to be on the field to guide teammates through their toughest Test.
Clarke, who wiped away tears to make an emotional statement on behalf of the team on Saturday, has already arrived in Macksville.
India management is making plans to ensure their players are able to attend the service.
