Adelaide onballer Brad Crouch will miss the initial two months of the AFL season because of a broken foot.

Crouch had surgery on Monday after suffering a fracture in his left foot in Saturday's pre-season win against Port Adelaide.

The 21-year-old's injury follows an Achilles tear last year which sidelined him three months.

"Brad has had an unfortunate run with injury in recent years but we know that he will attack his rehabilitation with enthusiasm," Adelaide's football manager David Noble said in a statement.
