A male defence force cadet has been charged with sexually assaulting two teenage female cadets.

The 19-year-old Australian Defence Force Academy officer cadet will face ACT Magistrates Court on Wednesday morning after he allegedly assaulted the 19-year-old women on separate occasions.

Police allege one assault occurred after a night out in Canberra in June 2013. The other assault occurred at the residence of one of the victims in February this year.

The cadet was arrested after the women complained to ADFA staff on Monday.

The man has been charged with two counts of sexual intercourse without consent.

Defence is assisting police with enquiries and providing support to the women.
