Aeris Resources won't buy CSA copper mine

Aeris Resources says it hasn't been able to reach agreement with Glencore on the CSA copper mine, which it had sought to buy for $801 million.

Copper miner Aeris Resources says it has been unable to come to terms with global miner Glencore on buying the CSA copper mine in central NSW.

Aeris in March said it had offered $US575 million (A$801m ) in cash and shares for the mine plus a royalty payable to Glencore.

"Whilst it is disappointing that the acquisition of the CSA Mine couldn't be completed, Aeris remains focused on its Tritton Copper Operations, the Torrens exploration project and exploring growth opportunities, both organic and through M&A," Aeris Resources chief executive Andre Labuschagne said on Monday.

At 1049 AEDT Aeris shares were down 3.57 per cent, to 13.5 cents.
