The Asian Football Confederation has contracted Sportradar, the Swiss-based sports and betting data intelligence agency, to monitor its leading competitions for signs of betting-related corruption and fraudulent activity.
The agreement comes after the company alerted authorities in Australia earlier this year of an extensive match-fixing syndicate which resulted in four players and an official receiving indefinite global bans from the game.
Tournaments which the agency will monitor include the AFC Champions League, AFC Cup and the 2015 Asian Cup and qualifiers.
AFC General Secretary Dato' Alex Soosay, said, "AFC's partnership with Sportradar is the latest step taken to counter the threat that match-fixing poses to football in Asia."
