As dusty Hawthorn players continue celebrating, the AFL club is adamant their premiership hangovers won't extend into next season.
In fact, the undisputed powerhouse of the AFL have already set their sights on winning a third flag in a row next year - a feat achieved by only four clubs, the last Brisbane in 2001-03.
As the magnitude of their 63-point belting of Sydney in the grand final fizzer was settling in on Sunday, the Hawks cast an eye to a triple treat in 2015.
"This club is here to stay. We plan to be a juggernaut of the AFL," club president Andrew Newbold said on Sunday.
After a night of raucous revelry at a club function, Hawthorn players spent the night and morning partying at forward Jarryd Roughead's house.
The jubilant players then attended a supporters' day at Hawthorn's spiritual home, Glenferrie Oval, where players, coaches and several thousands fans remained in awe at their back-to-back accomplishment.
"We'll sit back and enjoy this one first, and really understand what we have achieved," midfielder Jordan Lewis said.
"And then no doubt Clarko (coach Alastair Clarkson), when we get back to pre-season, he will settle our sights on achieving the same thing next year."
As Hawthorn's festivities were swinging, their humbled opponents Sydney returned to NSW still wondering what went wrong.
"As a footy club, we're going to have to stick fat in this tough period," star attacker Lance Franklin said.
Franklin won a premiership with the Hawks last season before a stunning defection to the Swans on a $10m, nine-year contract. His future is assured.
But doubts swirl around dual Brownlow medallist Adam Goodes, who may have played the last game in his esteemed career.
"We'll see what happens in the next couple of weeks," a non-committal Goodes said.
