AFL leaders Adelaide will sweat on fitness tests on a key trio including Eddie Betts for Sunday's AFL grudge match against Port Adelaide.

The ladder-leading Crows hope Betts can come back from a week off because of appendicitis, with defender Jake Lever and midfielder Brad Crouch also in the frame to return from injury.

Lever has missed the past two matches because of a hamstring injury and Crouch was sidelined for Sunday's draw against Collingwood by a fractured cheekbone.

"The prognosis on all those guys is pretty positive," Crows coach Don Pyke said post-match.

"Eddie, Brad and Lever should all be available at this point, we're optimistic on all three."

But key backman Kyle Hartigan has suffered a setback in his return from a hamstring strain.

Hartigan, after three weeks out, didn't last the opening quarter of his comeback game in state league ranks and faces further scans.
