Defender Marley Williams has pulled out of Collingwood's side for Sunday night's AFL blockbuster clash with Carlton because of an ankle injury.

Williams rolled his ankle during training on Friday.

"We'll see how it pulls up and assess it early next week," Collingwood's football director Rodney Eade told the club's website.

The Magpies regain premiership pair Tyson Goldsack and Steele Sidebottom. Tim Broomhead has been dropped.

Carlton coach Mick Malthouse has lost patience with Jarrad Waite, dropping the under-performing forward.

Waite has kicked 13 goals in 10 games this season.

The Blues have also dropped Dennis Armfield and regain Marc Murphy after hamstring tightness forced the skipper to miss Carlton's upset loss to Greater Western Sydney.

Rookie-draft selection Blaine Johnson, 18, makes his debut for the Blues.

Melbourne have made four changes ahead of Sunday's game at Etihad Stadium against Western Bulldogs.

The Demons will be without ex-Bulldog Daniel Cross (leg), Tom McDonald (calf) and suspended onballer Jordie McKenzie, while Aidan Riley has been omitted.

Big man Max Gawn is one of four inclusions.

The Bulldogs have four major outs, with club champion Ryan Griffen (back), Daniel Giansiracusa (suspended), forward Jarrad Grant (virus) and key defender Jordan Roughead (shoulder) to miss the Demons clash.

Debutant teenager Mitch Honeychurch is one of four inclusions for the Bulldogs.

Port Adelaide regain Jarman Impey and Hamish Hartlett for Sunday's Showdown against Adelaide, who have recalled Tom Lynch and Brad Crouch for Ben Rutten (rested) and David Mackay (concussion).
