Collingwood have named seven inclusions headed by Brownlow Medallist Dane Swan for Saturday's AFL pre-season game against Richmond in Wangaratta.
Jack Riewoldt is a notable absentee from the Richmond squad. The star forward will miss a second consecutive game because of quadricep tightness, a club spokesman said.
Five-time All-Australian Swan was rested from Collingwood's opening clash against Geelong at Simonds Stadium on February 12.
Half-forward Alex Fasolo, who suffered a foot injury in 2013 and played only three games for the season, has also been included.
Fasolo's most recent game for the Magpies was last year's Anzac Day clash with Essendon.
Key defender Nathan Brown and tall utilities Ben Reid and Tyson Goldsack are also part of the 29-man squad, alongside Caolan Mooney and 34-year-old ruckman Ben Hudson.
Collingwood's 2012 club champion Dayne Beams and ex-skipper Nick Maxwell will be rested, while Nathan Freeman (hamstring) and Tim Broomhead (hand) are likely to miss a month of football.
Three players will be cut from Collingwood's squad before their clash with the Tigers, who lost their opening game to Melbourne last week.
The Tigers are expecting to give four-time leading goalkicker Riewoldt a run in their final trial game against Essendon on March 7.
"He had some quad tightness last week so he's going to miss this week again," a spokesman said.
"It's not a major issue."
Former skipper Chris Newman will be rested this weekend.
Popular forward Jake King comes into the Richmond squad as do Reece Conca, Ricky Petterd, Chris Knights, Matt Arnot, Matt McDonough and rookie Matt Thomas.
King said he'd struggled to build up a fitness base pre-Christmas because of shoulder and toe surgeries.
"The big toe has been a big setback," King told the club's website.
"That's been causing me a bit of dramas but we're on top of that now.
"I'm going to try to get in the middle a little bit this year."
King said before he returned to normal duties he tried a variety of cross-training methods, with mixed success.
"They tried to get me in the pool but we all know I can't swim so I stayed out of there," King said.
"I had to do a fair bit of boxing."
Maxwell was limping around with strapping on his calf on Thursday, skipping training.
"I just got a corkie. I won't play in Wangaratta but I'll be sweet for Gold Coast next week," Maxwell told Seven News.
The Suns host the Magpies for a practice game at Metricon Stadium on March 2.
