North Melbourne's Lindsay Thomas will be one of a handful of players sweating on the findings of the AFL match review panel on Monday.
Thomas caught Western Bulldogs midfielder Lachie Hunter high last Friday night, with opinion divided about whether the coathanger was an attempted tackle or not.
Hunter was clearly dazed after the fourth-quarter incident, which prompted several Bulldogs to remonstrate with Thomas.
"I can see why they're angry .... it's a crude tackle," former Essendon forward Matthew Lloyd said on the Nine Network.
Luke Ball, who sat on the match review panel in 2015, suggested it was a matter of Thomas' intent.
"They're going to have to decide whether it's a legitimate attempt to tackle," Ball said on Nine.
"From that footage, certainly in slow motion, it doesn't appear to be."
Bulldogs young gun Marcus Bontempelli made his side's thoughts on the matter clear earlier on the weekend.
"We didn't really like it at all, we thought there was quite a bit of malice," Bontempelli told Fox Sports.
"He will be OK, hopefully he can relax and be OK over the next couple of days.
"But we thought it was quite a bit unfair."
Thomas' most recent indiscretion came in last year's elimination final, when he escaped with a fine for kicking Richmond defender Dylan Grimes.

Hawthorn defender Ben Stratton's hit on Greater Western Sydney speedster Nathan Wilson is also set to come under scrutiny when the match review panel analyses round six.
Stratton made contact with Wilson's head after the 23-year-old had kicked the ball during the Giants' 75-point thumping of the Hawks.
The panel may also look at a dust-up between Maverick Weller and Josh Wagner during the Saints' win over Melbourne but neither player is expected to be suspended.
