AFL rules on young star Marshall

Todd Marshall will not be eligible to Greater Western Sydney as an academy player at the 2016 national draft.

The AFL has ruled that the GWS Giants will not be able to select talented sporting allrounder Todd Marshall as an academy player at this year's national draft.

The 198cm tall Marshall is playing his first full season for the Murray Bushrangers in the Under-18 TAC Cup, having previously focused on cricket.

Several Victorian clubs have questioned the level of access the Giants have to players from southern NSW as part of their academy program.
