AFL's Bombers regain Jobe Watson

Essendon skipper Jobe Watson has been named in the Bombers' AFL side to play Collingwood on Sunday.

After another difficult week, Essendon have finally had some good news with Jobe Watson's pending return to AFL action.

Watson has been named in the Bombers' final 22 to play Collingwood at the MCG on Sunday after missing the past three matches with a broken collarbone.

Veteran defender Dustin Fletcher will also return for the Bombers from injury among four changes.

Luckless Michael Hurley misses out with an ankle injury, while midfielder Ben Howlett is omitted among the changes.

Collingwood will be strengthened with the return of midfield gun Luke Ball from injury, as well as forward Quinten Lynch, who returned from a back problem strongly in the reserves last weekend.

Youngsters Jarrod Witts and Ben Kennedy make way.

Adelaide have made five changes for Sunday's Showdown with Port Adelaide at AAMI Stadium, including the return of midfield star Patrick Dangerfield from his shoulder injury.

He and key defender Ben Rutten, who has also been out with a shoulder problem, are added along with forward Jared Petrenko, midfielder Mitchell Grigg and forward Lewis Johnston for his first AFL match of the season.

Johnston has kicked 10 goals in his past two SANFL matches since returning from a knee injury which has hampered his year.

Premiers Sydney have named running defender Rhyce Shaw to play the Western Bulldogs at Etihad Stadium on Sunday - his first match since sustaining an abdominal injury in round two.

Youngster Harry Cunningham misses out.

The Dogs recall veteran onballer Daniel Cross, with skipper Matthew Boyd's injury-riddled season continuing as he misses with a calf problem.
