Greater Western Sydney coach Leon Cameron says his AFL side has had some luck in their recent batch of close wins, but isn't concerned those torrid contests have taken a toll on his players.

GWS scrapped their way to successive three-point wins over Collingwood and Richmond before squeezing out an eight-point victory over West Coast.

Cameron is predicting Saturday's home game with Essendon will also go down to the wire, but isn't worried his injury-depleted squad might feel the pinch..

"I don't believe the closeness of the games takes the energy out of our boys," Cameron said.

'Ideally you don't want to have too many close games.

"What we are finding is they are structurally staying sound and we are being composed in really high-pressure situations, which is good from a young group.

"We understand that some of those games could have gone either way.

"Clearly Richmond were better than us on the night, it was a great duel against Collingwood, they had opportunities as well.

'We've probably had a little bit of luck in some of those games.

"In saying that we have stuck to what we know best, and that's to keep on competing, that gives you a chance to stay in games.

"We've won a fair few quarters as well, so it's not as if we're playing really bad football and just getting over the line.

"We're playing some pretty good footy, but at times we're letting ourselves down, but at right end of the game, we are putting it all together..

"But you don't want to be doing that all the time."

A win over the Bombers at Spotless Stadium would allow the Giants to go into the second half of their campaign with a 9-2 record.

'We'd be rapt, absolutely over the moon (with that mark)," Cameron said.

Cameron said Phil Davis and Aidan Corr would have a huge task negating the influence of in-form Essendon spearhead Joe Daniher.

'There's a whole range of things why they are playing some good footy, they are doing a lot right," Cameron said of the Bombers.
