AFP looks into World Cup bid corruption

The Australian Federal Police is evaluating allegations of a corrupt payment from Football Federation Australia to FIFA.

Federal police are looking into corruption claims surrounding Australia's bid for the 2022 World Cup.

The AFP has confirmed it will evaluate allegations of a corrupt payment from the Football Federation Australia to FIFA.

It comes after the AFP was contacted by former football executive and whistleblower Bonita Mesiades and independent senator Nick Xenophon.
