Agrarian Kitchen to inspire better cooking

The first book from the founder of The Agrarian Kitchen in Tasmania will inspire readers to cook and eat better.

The Agrarian Kitchen has taken the food and travel industries by storm since opening in 2008.

The Tasmanian cooking school lures gourmet travellers from around Australia and now you can have your very own slice of it at home with the coffee table cookbook, The Agrarian Kitchen by Rodney Dunn.

"For me, The Agrarian Kitchen represents the chance to share the simple pleasures of cooking and eating in tune with the seasons, and the rewards of a life lived close to the earth," Dunn writes.

The cookbook reflects this desire too. Divided into seasons, each chapter features in-depth recipes, step-by-step guides and beautiful large photographs.

Recipes include ricotta and quail egg ravioli; smoked trout and fennel tart; apricot and lavender pie; truffle trifle; and pheasant braised in cider.

There's also advice on keeping animals, growing vegetables, foraging for mushrooms, and even making apple cider.

This is a beautiful first book from The Agrarian Kitchen and one that will not only inspire you to cook and eat better but that will have you planning your own escape to Tasmania.
