The typhoon that has battered the Philippines with 300 kilometre an hour winds, heavy rain and coastal storm surges is believed to have left thousands dead.
And now aid agencies are scrambling to get assistance to those still in urgent need of food, water, shelter and medical aid.
Typhoon Haiyan has also wreaked havoc with buildings and infrastructure - destroying homes, flooding roads and downing powerlines.
Emergency coordinator from World Vision, Aaron Aspi - who's in an affected part of the Philippines - told Ildi Amon some communities had still been recovering from earlier natural disasters.
