Alleged chainsaw road rager to face court

A man who allegedly waved a revved-up chainsaw in peak hour traffic after brawling with three men in a road rage incident in Sydney's west has been charged.

A shirtless man who allegedly revved a chainsaw in a frightening road rage incident in Sydney's west has been charged.

The incident unfolded in Fairfield on Tuesday afternoon, with dashcam footage showing a shirtless 25-year-old sprinting up to a stationary white jeep driven by a 34-year-old man.

The footage, uploaded to Facebook, shows a man throwing punches through an open window as the driver retaliates by hurling a drink.

Two tradies wearing hi-vis wear rush to the driver's aid, with a fight erupting among the four before the the shirtless man is subdued.

He is seen storming off before returning moments later wielding a running chainsaw as onlookers scream.

A 25-year-old man was arrested and charged on Wednesday night, police said.

He's been granted conditional bail to appear at Fairfield Local Court on May 7 where he faces charges of affray armed with intent to commit an indictable offence.
