Amaysim chief executive Julian Ogrin is quitting the mobile provider to join Foxtel, and will be replaced by company co-founder and former chairman Peter O'Connell.

Mr Ogrin, who led Amaysim for three years and guided the company through its listing on the Australian Securities Exchange, will leave at the end of the week for an executive position in the newly merged Foxtel and Fox Sports.

Mr O'Connell, who co-founded Amaysim in 2010, served as chairman until June 2015 and has been a non-executive director since.
