Amcor profit up but FH16 is 'challenging'

Amcor's net profit for the 12 months to June 30 was $US680.3 million, up 7.2 per cent on a constant currency basis stripping out demerger costs.

Amcor's full year profit was up 35.3 per cent on last year, when the packaging company was hit by the cost of demerging its Australasian business.

Amcor's net profit for the 12 months to June 30 was $US680.3 million, up 7.2 per cent on a constant currency basis once last year's $US224 million cost of demerging Orora is stripped out.

That translates to a 0.4 per cent increase on last year once the the stronger US dollar has been factored in.

The company also says forex rates have contributed to its forecast of a challenging comparative first half for its flexibles business.

The final dividend was 28.6 Australian cents per share, unfranked, up from 23.5 cents.
