Amcor regional president to step down

Amcor says Ralf Wunderlich, president of its Asia Pacific unit, is leaving to pursue other career interests.

Packaging giant Amcor has hired Roelof Westerbeek to replace Ralf Wunderlich as president of its Asia Pacific unit.

Amcor says Mr Wunderlich is leaving to pursue other career interests and that Mr Westerbeek, who joins from DSM Engineering Plastics, will take on the role from March 15 and be based in Singapore.

Mr Wunderlich oversaw an increase in sales from Amcor's Flexibles Asia Pacific business from $US450 million to $US1.2 billion ($A644.70 million-$A1.72 billion) in his six years in the role.

"Roelof has extensive experience managing and growing a large scale business in the Asia Pacific region," Amcor managing director Ron Delia said.
