Two men in the United States have fought off their Jaws fears, by saving a two metre great white shark, beached on Cape Cod, Massachusetts.

The shark was reportedly chasing a seagull when it jumped out of the water, and got stuck on a sandbank.

The men kept their distance but helped the sea animal by throwing buckets of water on it.

Eventually officials were able to pull the exhausted shark back into the water and slowly towed it out to sea.
